East Tennessee's Top Dog Grooming, Boarding and Day Camp Facility: The Wag Social

Alex and Austin Conner

Co-Owners & Founding Partners

Alex and Austin Conner are the founding partners of The Wag Social along side of their family. With both of them growing up with dogs, they know what it is like to have a dog be a part of the family. Being locals to East Tennessee, they could see how the community and other businesses would benefit from more pet care services, and they wanted to provide a service that would treat each and every animal as if their own.

After both graduating from Carson-Newman University in 2019, the vision of the Wag Social began. After a couple of years researching and consulting, the doors finally opened in May of 2023. Austin and Alex welcomed Tim and Susan Hatch into The Wag family with open arms in July of 2024, and as a group they strive to give your pets all the love and attention that they most certainly deserve.

They dedicate their time to their Son, Jay and English Chocolate Lab, Ernie outside of work. The four of them love spending time with family, being outdoors, and traveling. Alex and Austin have many other ventures in Sevier County, striving to leave a positive impact on their community. They hope that The Wag Social brings you and your dogs as much joy as it does to them.

Lisa Snyder, Director of Operations

Lisa Snynder has over 20 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician Supervisor at a busy six Doctor practice in Florida.

Practically growing up in the veterinary field, she learned a great deal about dog behavior, demeanor, and most importantly learned to recognize symptoms of illnesses and injuries. It was there that her passion for working with animals developed as she cared for sick and injured pets, nurturing them back to health and watching them improve every day. Lisa also grew to be overly empathetic and patient with even the most fearful and nervous pets, helping them to better adjust during their stay.

Over the years she managed and trained new technicians in many different areas – preparing patients for surgery, providing care for critical patients, administering medications and injections, educating pet owners on treatments, post-op care, and much more.

In 2023, Lisa and her family relocated to East Tennessee and she soon after joined the team at The Wag Social. She loves spending each and every day with all the different dogs and getting to know each one of them personally! Lisa is grateful that she can bring her past skills and experiences to help provide the best possible care for day campers and boarding dogs.

When she not hanging out with the pups, Lisa is at home catering to her two cats, Jonathan and Comrade! In her off time, she also loves spending time outdoors- hiking, swimming, or just relaxing with her family.
